first-class jag dvd show

JAG dvd had been my secondly treasured show debuting in the 1990s. (Babylon 5 was my preference of that 10 years.) I watched JAG its earliest season when it was doltishly terminated by NBC till its tenth. season (after CBS picked it up and it grew into a gigantic punch, even begating a greater striking: NCIS.) Of all its seasons, the 10th and very final was its poorest. There had been two primary factors for this.

To start, JAG\'s celebrity David James Elliott demanded more salary the moment his contract run out. When it was not presented to him, he signed a contract with ABC for a latest comedy pilot (which never sold.) As a consequence of this, the sellers of JAG began phasing his character out. There were a lot of episodes where he only made a momentary appearance. Substantial mistake, mainly because his character Harmon Rabb Jr. was the core of the display. Anyway, JAG on dvd was a definitely superb tv show and I miss it. Seeing that it has been absent for 5 years, I just think it is time for CBS (or one of the other networks) to start off providing several \"Return to JAG\" 2 hour television movies the manner in which they have done throughout the years with \"Rockford Files,\" \"Perry Mason,\" \"Gunsmoke\" and plenty other unforgettable tv series. Disney\'s new big screenversion of Tim Burton\'s vision of Alice tv dvd box set in Wonderland, or \"Underland,\" delivers us Johnny Depp again designing an original personaunique to oursheer amazement, Thismotion pictureis the first mega-hit movie version of Alice ever, hittingthe 1 billion dollar mark internationally. It\'s a testomonyto Johnny Depp\'s astronomical star power within the right vehicle. It has also been achievednot only throughBurton\'s artistry, but Linda Woolverton\'s screenwriting.

Butthey also had to improve the story to makeit work as a movie on dvd box sets. EachEvery movie maker has struggled with the Carroll textingbecause, like dreams, they are arbitrary experiences along withno arc. Walt Disney was the most impressive, for my part, at remainingfaithfulto the story without attachingan arc (and Walt\'s artists\' vision of the rabbit hole is still the best of all time).
In this version of dvd boxedset, Alice is a 20 year old whosenses oppressed by an uninspiredsociety that requires her to respond like a excellent woman at the cost of her personal identity. When she falls down the rabbit hole into another dimension, thisdimension looks extremely completely different but still carries expectations that others want her to meet with noquestion.
The challenge for Alice, then, is to chalchallengelenge these automatic expectations and obtainher own personal personality.

Alice on dvd began fairly enough; however, in the early minutesof the script\'s unfolding, it appeared that the film was intent upon releasinga young audienceto a range ofthe more normal, humdrum stereotypes.Instantaneously we were introduced to a bodily uglyandpersonally unpleasant suitor, to a autocratic mother-in-law, to a caricature of a old maid aunt wannabeeof marriage and so object to be ridiculed, and so on.

Are we able to reach an psychologicalhigh similar to a drug high simply becauseof the way the songsand motion-picture photography workon us? And when it endsthe body goes back to stasis. How can everyday life compete with this?

It is not bad, Banacek

Like a magician\'s illusion, each episode of Banacek(dvd boxedset) opens with the unveiling of some sensational happening that seems to defy logical explanation. Typically something extremely valuable has disappeared, leaving an insurance company on the hook for a huge loss. Faced with a case too challenging for their in-house staff to handle, Boston based investigator Thomas Banacek is the man that insurance companies turn to. Brilliant, affluent, handsome, and refined, Banaceck is the best at what he does, and he knows it

George Peppard starring as Thomas Banacek, Boston\'s finest freelance Insurance investigator is called into action for a price when others can\'t seem to get the job done. George Peppard was the perfect choice for the role of the Polish-American detective Thomas Banacek. George Peppard had a very charming and charismatic approach to the way he conducted and solved an investigation and made it seem believable.

TV mystery scholars have noted that beyond Banacek dvd box sets\' ethnic heritage and colorfully cryptic Polish proverbs, he lacked the larger-than-life persona of a Columbo or Ironside. But what grabbed me on rewatching the DVD that sailed right over my adolescent head was the well-concealed complexity of the character. Behind Banacek\'s urbane musings and womanizing, we see occasional flashes of his blue-collar upbringing (watch for the gold watch scene in Let\'s Hear it for a Living Legend -- a glimpse into the motivation behind Banacek\'s glee in besting insurance companies);

A complete opposite to Peter Falk\'s self-effacing Columbo and resident of Boston\'s Beacon Hill, American/Polish insurance investigator Banacek is smug, erudite, wealthy, and terribly competent always managing to get his 10% on every recovery while making other insurance investigators and detectives green with envy. Supporting cast on the dvd box sets is excellent with veteran and accomplished actor Murray Matheson as a rare book dealer and friend of Banacek who assists him in solving a number of capers. Other notable guest stars such as Bert Convy, William Windom, and Kevin McCarthy also appear in the series.

It\'s nice to see that people, even today, appreciate a classic like Banacek still. Call me old fashioned, but I love the music, especially when the show cuts to Banacek rowing or skulling in the beginning of show after the teaser intro.

Banacek on dvds is also a wonderful and well deserved moment for Polish-Americans: Pope John Paul II; Heart of Europe: The Past in Poland\'s Present and God\'s Playground: A History of Poland, Vol. 2: 1795 to the Present
